Who we are and What We Do

The Senegalese Association of Colorado (SAC) is a nonprofit organization committed to making a meaningful difference in lives of individual in need. With a particular focus on the Senegalese community, we work towards creating a better future through cultural, charitable, scientific, and educational initiatives. The Senegalese Association of Colorado (SAC) plays several key roles in supporting and uniting the Senegalese diaspora in Colorado. Our mission is to provide support, promote social well-being, and foster sustainable growth by offering resources and assistance to those facing hardships in the Community.

Community Support:

  • Helps new Senegalese immigrants adjust to life in Colorado by providing guidance on housing, employment, healthcare, and education

  • Offers translation services and assistance with immigration paperwork

  • Connects newcomers with established community members who can provide mentorship and support

Cultural Preservation:

  • Organizes celebrations for major Senegalese holidays and festivals

  • Runs programs teaching traditional dance, music, and language (particularly Wolof) to younger generations

  • Hosts cultural events that showcase Senegalese art, fashion, and cuisine

Social Services:

  • Provides emergency assistance to community members in times of crisis

  • Coordinates fundraising efforts for community needs

  • Facilitates connections with healthcare and social service providers
